(AJC) Former President Bill Clinton will have some star power with him on Wednesday when he raises cash for his wife’s presidential campaign.
Atlanta music mogul Usher will headline Clinton’s fundraiser at the Atlanta home of technology executive Darrell Mays and his wife Tara.
It will cost $33,400 to attend a reception with the ex-president and Usher and $10,000 for a picture with Clinton.
And don’t forget: Donald Trump’s running-mate Mike Pence will arrive in town Monday for his own GOP event. Here’s a tease to our story on Trump’s fundraising ups and downs in Georgia:
Donald Trump has invigorated a new group of Republican donors to close a yawning fundraising gap in Georgia with Democrat Hillary Clinton. But he continues to struggle to win over some of the state’s most prolific, and deep-pocketed, contributors.
An Atlanta Journal-Constitution analysis of Federal Election Commission records released this week shows Trump outpaced Clinton’s fundraising in Georgia in June, the first time he has done so this campaign. But the reticence of the moneyed elites he once trashed continues to haunt him.
